About Us

Specialists in Industrial Workholding for Manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair, and Assembly Workshops

At Sorted® Workholding Systems, we understand that today’s technicians face an ever-changing range of tasks, each presenting its own unique workholding challenges. The sheer variety of these tasks demands highly adaptable solutions that can meet modern needs while remaining fit for purpose.

To address this, our products are designed with modularity at their core, ensuring they are future-proof and capable of adapting to the diverse and evolving demands placed on technicians.

We began by reimagining the bench vice —a staple of maintenance and repair shops. The revolving head vice, introduced in the 1930s, was the last significant innovation in bench vice design, with no notable updates since 1985. It was clear that both industry and technicians would benefit from a comprehensive redesign.

The development process involved a detailed, component-by-component overhaul. A wide range of applications were considered, including variations in material, size, shape, weight and positioning of workpieces. Collaboration with technicians across multiple industries identified critical inefficiencies and developed solutions to improve workholding performance, ergonomics and to reduce physical strain on users.

The result is the Sorted® Integrated Modular Bench Vice System, a fully accessorized, modular product range designed to meet both current and future demands. Its fundamental design features allow seamless incorporation of future workholding and productivity enhancements.

A key innovations is the SlotMate®, a patent-pending, tool free quick change (QC) system for jaw liners on bench and machine vices. SlotMate® products have the potential to revolutionise industrial processes, offering unmatched flexibility and efficiency. Sorted® Workholding Systems and SlotMate® products will:

  • Save significant time in many industrial applications
  • Improve productivity
  • Reduce scrap
  • Increase profits
  • Turn frustration and fatigue jobs into ‘easy as’ jobs
